Practical Literacy Resources – Collis

With the renewed focus on the learning of spelling, grammar and punctuation, teachers at Collis Primary School set about developing a practical approach to teaching of these skills. What followed was the development of a range of games allowing the children to practise and apply their knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar in a fun, interactive way.

The following films demonstrate the use of literacy games in promoting engagement in learning, related to grammar objectives. The games encourage the accurate use of grammatical vocabulary, understanding of different types of punctuation and the development of vocabulary. (There are two formats for the video, the first will play within the browser, the second will open a ‘light-box’ and play in that)
